Concealed Carry Training Concealed carry training consists of 12 hours of combined classroom and hands-on training in all aspects of handgun safety. The classroom phase is ten hours. Participants will learn ins and outs of selecting, storing, cleaning, and shooting a handgun. The class also covers shooting skills, positions and technique as well as physiological and psychological reactions when experiencing a life threatening encounter. The live shooting phase is two hours. Participants will learn attitude and aptitude skills for defensive shooting. The operating and shooting skills learned in the classroom phase are put into practice. Ohio Valley Outdoors will provide ALL necessary class materials, including use of a 22 caliber pistol with ammuntion and targets. All training is on site at Ohio Valley Outdoors. Introduction to Handguns for Women Ohio Valley Outdoors is now offering an introduction to handguns course specifically tailored for the new female shooter who is interested in learning more about the sport of handgun shooting. This course will be held on the last Thursday of each month, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Each class is limited to 10 participants to ensure personal attention. The 2 hour course will include classroom and range time and will cover the basics of pistol and revolver design, safety standards, principals of shooting, and live fire time. Bring your own handgun or we can provide one for you.
